S58-powered BMW M cars are seriously quick straight from the factory. The G80 M3 pairs well over 500 horsepower with 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque and gets from 0 to 62 mph in just under 4 seconds. Even so, we know the S58 has more to give, so let us unlock the full potential of your M2, M3 or M4.
The ECU on these cars is currently locked, so a custom remap isn't possible right now. A remap would normally mean writing a modified file with updated parameters and loading it back onto the ECU. To learn more about the different tuning methods, see our guide to ECU remapping.
With that limitation in mind, the research and development teams at Viezu and Paramount Performance worked together to find a safe, reliable and effective way to tune the S58-equipped M2, M3 and M4. We searched the world for a solution that met our high standards, and after hundreds of hours of research, on-vehicle testing and analysis, we found a tuning system we're extremely happy with.
We're delighted to add the world-renowned Burger Motorsports JB4 tuning system to our range. It's far more than a simple "tuning box": its billet aluminum shell houses a great deal of highly advanced technology, including CANbus OBDII integration and fuel and spark control. The system sits between the car's sensors and its ECU, modifying the signals being processed to boost performance. After thorough testing, we firmly believe it's the ultimate tuning device for the S58-powered G80/G81 M3, G82/G83 M4 and G87 M2.
JB4 DIY Tuning: Features
The JB4 gives your BMW huge flexibility, letting you switch from factory settings to full track mode, and anything in between, at the tap of a button. And yes, you control it wirelessly from any compatible iOS or Android device. You can also connect a Windows laptop with the optional data cable, but we strongly recommend the mobile app for convenience and a great user experience. *App purchase required.
Because it's essentially plug and play, installation is easy to reverse. Remove the JB4 and your car returns completely to factory specification. If you only want to go back to factory settings temporarily, you can do that in the companion app. A big advantage over an ECU remap is that there's no risk of a dealer wiping your map during a software update.

Power
The JB4 delivers seriously impressive gains of around 80 hp and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft). Our in-house testing shows these figures are very achievable, depending on the individual car and the quality of fuel used.
As part of our extensive research and testing, we carried out multiple dyno runs on a G80 M3 using our highly advanced 3,000 horsepower four-wheel-drive rolling road. Before installation, our factory-spec G80 M3 made 559 horsepower and 716 Nm (528 lb-ft) of torque, well above the official figures. Even from those strong factory numbers, the JB4 delivered very convincing, reliable gains: 72 horsepower and 94 Nm (69 lb-ft) more than standard, for final figures of an extremely impressive 631 horsepower and 810 Nm (597 lb-ft). Those are gains you'll really feel, on the road and on the track.
