Master vs Slave Tool
Understanding the difference between Master and Slave tools is key to choosing the right setup for your shop.
Master Tool
With a Master Tool you get non-encrypted files so you can modify them yourself or send them to any tuning file provider of your choice.
Any editing software that supports binary files can be used to modify a file read with your Master Tool.

Slave Tool
With a Slave Tool you read and write encrypted files. These files can only be modified by a specific Master — the file provider designated when you buy the tool. Your Slave Tool is linked to that Master.
Any Slave Tool can be remotely upgraded to a Master if:
- ✓Your Master approves the switch (the Slave Tool must be released from the Master)
- ✓You pay the price to upgrade
