Korhex for FLEX: The New Boot Glitch Unlocking Option Every Pro Tuner Should Know
ECU tuning is evolving incredibly fast, and Magic Motorsport has just made another big move. Say hello to Korhex.
Built to work hand in hand with the Magic Motorsport FLEX tool, Korhex is new hardware for direct MCU access, advanced Boot Glitch procedures and unlocking supported protected ECUs.
It's more than one more gadget for the bench. For pro tuners, ECU specialists and remapping shops, Korhex could make some of the hardest unlocking jobs much cleaner, quicker and less invasive.
Viezu can supply the full Korhex and FLEX package, help pin down exactly which hardware and licenses you need, and back you with training and technical support so you use it right. Shop the Korhex Tool
So What Is Korhex?
Korhex is a dedicated hardware extension for the Magic Motorsport FLEX ECU and TCU programming platform.
It gives FLEX direct access to a designated contact point on the microcontroller (the MCU) during supported advanced unlocking and Boot Glitch procedures.
Getting into some protected ECUs has traditionally meant a lot more physical prep on the circuit board: working both sides of the PCB, pulling components like resistors, or wiring Boot pins by hand, depending on the procedure.
Each extra physical step eats time and adds another chance of damage.
Korhex takes another route. On supported applications, a dedicated Korhex mask sits over the MCU and the system works through a specific contact point, while FLEX guides and runs the unlock. Where the FLEX procedure supports Korhex, that can do away with resistor desoldering, manual Boot-pin wiring and board flipping, according to Magic Motorsport.
The result: less hands-on intervention with the ECU and a much more integrated workflow.

Why Korhex Matters to ECU Tuners
For us, it comes down to this: more ECU unlocking can potentially stay in your own shop.
Modern ECU security has opened a gap between being able to tune a vehicle and being able to get into its ECU at all.
Plenty of tuners know the pain: right vehicle, right tool, ready to write the calibration, and then the ECU turns out to need a specialist unlock first.
That can mean shipping it out, paying extra, more handling, longer turnaround and losing control of part of the customer experience.
Magic Motorsport's Boot Glitch technology had already started to change that. Korhex goes further by simplifying the physical MCU access that supported procedures need.
We've previously shown the earlier FLEX Boot Glitch process on a Bosch MD1, where you might open the ECU, temporarily remove a resistor, run the unlock and then reassemble. Korhex is designed to cut several of those manual prep steps on supported applications.
In a busy shop, that adds up:
- Less prep.
- Less PCB handling.
- Less soldering.
- Fewer manual connections.
- More control of the job in-house.
How Korhex Works With FLEX
Korhex doesn't replace FLEX, and it isn't a standalone ECU programmer. Think of it as an advanced access device inside the FLEX ecosystem. The workflow goes like this:
- Choose the supported ECU and procedure in FLEX.
- Open and prep the ECU as the FLEX software directs.
- Fit the correct Korhex mask and place the device on the designated MCU contact point.
- Run the supported access or Boot Glitch unlock.
- Carry on with the normal FLEX programming process.
Everything stays inside the FLEX environment you already know: same software, login, workflow, technical support and update system.
For current FLEX owners, that tight integration is one of Korhex's biggest strengths. There's no separate programming ecosystem to learn from scratch.
What Can It Do?
On currently supported applications, Korhex and FLEX together can offer:
- direct MCU access;
- advanced Boot Glitch ECU unlocking;
- Internal Flash reading and writing;
- Internal EEPROM reading and writing;
- full ECU backup;
- Boot unlocking; and
- follow-on programming through FLEX.
What's possible depends on the ECU, the microcontroller and the FLEX protocol, so check the live application list before counting on support for a particular unit. That's doubly true with Korhex, because coverage is moving very quickly.
Coverage Is Already Expanding
One of the most exciting parts of this launch is how fast Magic Motorsport is adding Korhex applications.
Within days, it announced Korhex support for DAF Delphi ETC3 UDS, new-generation SPC58N applications and Mercedes Bosch MD1CP001 Boot Glitch procedures. Magic describes Korhex as an evolving platform, with more applications and protocols expected in future FLEX updates.
That could matter as much as the hardware. When you buy into a pro tuning platform, you're buying the development program behind it, not just today's feature list, and Magic Motorsport is moving fast.
If you already run FLEX, Korhex is especially appealing because it builds on a platform you know: same software and workflow, plus a deeper level of access for protected control units.
That arguably makes it one of the most important FLEX add-ons for shops doing serious ECU and TCU programming. If you regularly run into modern protected ECUs, MD1/MG1 jobs, unlocking or work that used to need outside help, give Korhex a hard look. Shop the Korhex Tool

Why We Think Korhex Is a Big Deal
We've worked in professional tuning for more than 20 years, and the pace of development in 2026 has been remarkable.
Korhex is one more sign of how quickly the barriers to modern ECU access are coming down. It isn't only about tuning one more car; it's about shops taking more control of the entire process.
When an ECU unlock that used to be difficult or outsourced can be done safely in-house, the business upside can be big: less outsourcing, faster turnaround, fewer shipping steps and a better customer experience.
Korhex won't work on every ECU, and Magic Motorsport doesn't claim it will. Coverage stays specific to the ECU, MCU and protocol. But the platform was deliberately built to grow as Magic releases new protocols, which is why pro tuners should be watching closely.
Korhex FAQ
Is Korhex a tuning tool?
Not on its own. It's an advanced MCU-access hardware extension built specifically for FLEX. FLEX is still the ECU/TCU programming platform and runs the programming process.
Does it replace FLEX?
No. You need FLEX and a suitable FLEX software configuration to use Korhex.
Does it work in Boot Glitch mode?
Yes. Boot Glitch is the main working mode Magic Motorsport specifies for supported Korhex applications.
Does it eliminate soldering?
On supported Korhex procedures, it's designed to avoid resistor desoldering, manual Boot-pin wiring and needless board flipping. Always follow the exact FLEX instructions for the ECU on your bench.
Can it read and write an ECU?
Through the FLEX workflow, supported operations can include Internal Flash and EEPROM read/write, full backup and Boot unlock. Exact functions depend on the protocol.
Can I buy Korhex from Viezu?
Yes. You can order it through the Viezu online store; the current listing shows stock due from September 30, 2026. Shop the Korhex Tool
