KESS3 Just Gained a Big New Feature
Alientech has rolled out an important new capability for the KESS3 tuning tool, and we're excited to pass it on.
KESS3 Data Logger is now live for cars. It gives shops and tuners a practical way to record and review live vehicle data right through the KESS3, with no additional hardware needed.
If your KESS3 has an active subscription, you get it at no extra charge.
That says a lot. Current users pick up a valuable new function as part of their existing setup, lapsed subscribers have one more good reason to renew, and shops on other tools may find even more reason to look at switching to KESS3.

What It Means for Your Shop
KESS3 Data Logger is built to help you capture and review live operating data for:
- diagnostics
- tuning analysis
- troubleshooting
- performance review
Over the OBD connection, it can log a range of useful parameters depending on the vehicle and available protocol. According to Alientech's webinar presentation, that can include engine speed, vehicle speed, throttle position, boost pressure, lambda-related values, temperatures and more, plus GPS-based data from the KESS3's internal GPS receiver when there's signal. The webinar also makes clear GPS is a bonus, not a requirement, so logging still works where there's no GPS, such as on an indoor dyno.
For a busy shop, that means a clearer view of what the vehicle is doing in real conditions, on the road, during fault-finding or when checking the results of tuning changes.
Headline Benefits
A standout point: no extra hardware. Per the launch webinar, the feature is built right into Alientech Suite, so there's no separate logging device or extra software to get started. The presentation also highlights built-in threshold monitoring, markers during recording, offline session storage with cloud upload later, a cloud dashboard for review, session sharing and CSV export.
For shops, that adds up to:
- No extra logging hardware to buy
- Logging built into your Alientech Suite workflow
- Live viewing of selected parameters
- Thresholds that flag values running too high or too low
- Markers to tag key moments in a recording
- Dashboard review of recorded sessions
- CSV export for deeper analysis and record keeping
- Cloud sharing for teamwork or customer review
Together, those make the Data Logger more than a tuning feature. It's a practical shop tool for validation, comparison and troubleshooting.

Why This Matters
Plenty of shops already know logging is valuable, but extra equipment, extra cost or a clunky, disconnected workflow can get in the way.
That's what makes this release important. The Data Logger lives inside the KESS3 environment many dealers already use. Per the webinar walkthrough, it works over the vehicle's OBD connection, taps the KESS3's internal GPS where available, and saves sessions even without an internet connection during the test, uploading them once the tool is back online. The presentation also notes the dashboard history keeps up to 250 sessions before older entries are overwritten, with CSV export for long-term storage of important logs.
In practice, it gives shops a more connected way to:
- review vehicle behavior during testing
- compare stock and tuned operation
- spot problems more clearly
- share session data securely
- keep better shop records
Already on KESS3? It adds more everyday value. Subscription lapsed? It strengthens the case to renew. Using other tools? It makes KESS3 even more appealing as an all-in-one pro tuning platform.
Watch the Data Logger at Work
To show what this looks like in practice, we filmed a short demo of Simon running KESS3 Data Logger in our shop.
A full demo video is on the way later this week, walking through the feature, how it looks in the software and how to use it in a real tuning and shop environment.
